had the honor of sponsoring and presenting ‘The Entrepreneur
of the Year Award’ at the International Franchise Association’s
(IFA) National Convention held in Orlando, Florida this week
in front of over 3000 franchise industry executives.
“This
is the fifth year The Entrepreneur’s Source, along with
its affiliate company Business Advisers International, have sponsored
the IFA award ceremony and luncheon honoring an outstanding member
of the franchise industry,” said Brian Miller, president
of The Entrepreneur’s Source. “As
huge advocates for business ownership and franchising, our association
with this awards program underscores our passion and belief in
the ability for anyone to reach the American dream of business
ownership,” he added.
The
Entrepreneur of the Year award is presented to an individual
who exemplifies the
“entrepreneurial spirit” that franchising represents, has
a unique vision; are willing and eager to take the risks that
traditionally accompany new endeavors, and possess the key
management skills to create a successful business enterprise
through franchising. He
or she must demonstrate innovative management skills and be
in operation for at least three years while remaining active
in their community.
The
2008 “Entrepreneur of the Year Award” presented by
TES and BAI was presented to Brian Scudamore, CEO of 1-800-GOT-JUNK,
the World's Largest Junk Removal Company. As
CEO of the Vancouver-based company, Scudamore began franchising
his brand and in just five years guided the company to expand
to more than 275 franchise locations. 1-800-GOT-JUNK? is
now the world’s largest junk removal service with more
than 330 locations in three countries, 45 U.S. states and nine
Canadian provinces.
